Driving Compliance & Efficiency: ICE Services, Inc. and Intelex

Since 1986, ICE Services, Inc. has served clients across Alaska, delivering expertise in designing, building, and installing camps and utilities, as well as providing helpdesk outsourcing and maintenance services.

Impact

  • Successfully integrated training management with broader company compliance tracking.
  • Implemented comprehensive document control system beyond traditional training tracking.
  • Established centralized system for various company requirements and certifications.

Outcome

ICE Services implemented Intelex as a comprehensive tracking solution that goes beyond training management to include various company compliance requirements, with plans to enhance reporting capabilities through new user-friendly tools.

The Challenge for ICE Services, Inc.

ICE Services needed a solution that could track more than just traditional training courses. The company's Professional Services group, which includes an engineer and compliance/training staff, required a system to manage various company requirements including state-issued certifications.

For example, employees working in residential services kitchens need either food handler cards or food manager cards issued by the state, which require renewal tracking. The company wanted a system that could bundle these compliance requirements with their training management rather than just tracking "here's some training and here's who's got what courses."

How Intelex Helped ICE Services, Inc.

ICE Services selected Intelex because it functioned more as document control rather than just a training tracker. The platform allowed them to bundle various company tracking requirements with their training management, creating a comprehensive system for compliance and certification tracking.

The company has been using Intelex for less than a year and has successfully established data input processes. Currently, they are working to enhance their reporting capabilities. As Steve noted, the existing reports can be time-consuming to produce, but the new reporting module appears more user-friendly and should help them generate better and more effective reports.

The focus now is on developing the reporting tools to get better outputs from the data they've been inputting, which will improve their ability to track compliance and make informed decisions about training and certification requirements.
