Women in Construction and the Problem of PPE


In 2020, the U.S. construction industry employed 1.2 million women making up approximately 1 in 10 workers in the sector. Yet, one of the many hurdles faced by women in construction revolves around Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which often fails to accommodate the unique needs of women. Ill-fitting PPE not only compromises comfort but can also pose serious risks, increasing the likelihood of injuries or fatalities.
