New partnership brings together industry leaders Intelex and Protex AI

Press Release Date October 10, 2023

Reading, UK / Toronto, Canada– [10 October 2023] Intelex Technologies, a leading global provider of cloud-based environmental, health, safety and quality (EHSQ) management software, has announced its partnership with Computer Vision company Protex AI, a platform that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enable proactive organizations to gain greater visibility of unsafe behaviours in their facilities.

To create a safe workplace, organizations need to prevent safety incidents before they happen. That means collecting data from observations, behaviors and inspections to help safety practitioners understand the leading indicators that result in injuries or fatalities. However, in many organizations, that data is collected only if workers see the conditions in person. If it isn’t observed, it isn’t recorded.

Together, Protex AI and Intelex overcome this challenge. Protex AI integrates with an organization’s existing CCTV infrastructure to capture and analyze video footage of unsafe conditions in the workplace 24 hours a day, seven days a week, looking for even the most minor conditions that could aggregate into an incident. That information then becomes an input for the Intelex system, which uses it to manage dashboards, trend analysis and reporting.

As Scott Gaddis, Vice President of Health and Safety at Intelex, points out, the combination of Protex AI and Intelex can help organizations take their safety culture to new levels. “The most important element of a proactive safety culture is data,” says Gaddis. “The more data you get about observations and conditions in the workplace, the more effective your safety culture will be. With Protex AI and Intelex providing the tools for the digital safety management system, organizations can get continuous data about conditions in the workplace.”

“This partnership represents the next generation of workplace safety,” says Gaddis. “A safety management system supported by Protex AI and Intelex brings leading-edge technology to the fight against injuries and death in the workplace. With continuous AI and analytics available, every organization can take a massive step towards a workplace that prevents incidents before they happen and sends every worker home safely at night.”

Dan Hobbs, CEO at Protex AI said: “Protex AI is thrilled to be partnering with Intelex, a leading global provider for EHSQ management. We are working together towards the same goals, with the same driving force being our desire to enable safety teams to be more proactive and efficient. Our combined digital safety solution will facilitate continuous and scalable risk mitigation strategies, and we look forward to seeing all the benefits that comes from this partnership.”
