Summary
Fortive has ambitious sustainability goals relating to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions intensity. Having achieved many of its previous sustainability goals, Fortive is aiming to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions 50 percent from 2019 levels by 2029.
Prior to using Intelex, the sustainability team was using Excel spreadsheets to collect data, but the complexity of the data and the expertise required to manage it made this impractical. Without a digital solution to collecting sustainability data, Fortive couldn’t turn the data into actionable information and communicate that to stakeholders, especially those without a technical background.
Fortive had already determined it needed a digital EHS software solution before it acquired Intelex. Once the acquisition was complete, Intelex was the obvious solution. Fortive uses Corporate Reporting (aka Sustainability Performance Indicators) to facilitate collecting sustainability data. It also uses Datamaran for materiality analysis, which helps it to make informed decisions about sustainability.
Intelex Solution
The Sustainability Performance Indicators (Corporate Reporting) application has become the single source of truth for Fortive’s sustainability data. Fortive has transitioned its EHS&S Risk Score from Excel spreadsheets to Intelex to conduct risk score assessment, analyze trends and easily report EHS and sustainability risks across the organization. The Corporate Sustainability Team now collects, collates, analyzes and experiments with data much more quickly and with greater agility using Intelex. Further, Datamaran enables Fortive to gain greater insight into material ESG issues to inform the sustainability strategy.
