Using Leading Indicators for Safety Performance Improvement

Part 2: Collecting Data to Predict Future Safety

Leading indicators can help EHS professionals predict the future and engage in corrective actions that prevent accidents and injuries and don’t simply respond to them. Yet many organizations face challenges in collecting the data they require to make this happen. In Part 2 of this two-part series, Dr. Vince Marchesani discusses the following topics:
  • How to define the most important leading indicators.
  • Strategies for communicating data to the entire organization.
  • How to overcome challenges in collecting quality data from across the organization.
