EHS and Sustainability

An Evolving Relationship

Sustainability is a business approach to creating long-term value by taking into consideration how a given organization operates in the ecological, social, and economic environment. Sustainability also is about driving value for your organization.

“EHS and Sustainability—An evolving relationship” is a special report that focuses on the perception of sustainability and its relationship to EHS efforts.

Of those surveyed, most were EHS professionals, led EHS efforts for their organization, or were staff members tasked with EHS responsibilities. Eighty percent of those surveyed for the report agreed that “sustainability refers to overall business continuity, ensuring that the organization functions in a manner as efficient as possible without any gaps in production” and “is a vital part of all environment, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives at our company.” Nearly the same number—78 percent—agreed that workplace safety is the most important element in sustainability efforts.

Knowing what to measure, and how to measure it, is paramount to achieving success when it comes to both EHS and sustainability. Download this report and discover how your peers incorporate and assess sustainability and EHS efforts.
