- Needed to ensure compliance with an ever expanding list of environmental regulations and permits as well as internally developed environmental performance standards.

- Wanted to achieve certification by the Virginia Environmental Excellence program (VEEP), run by the state Department of Environmental Quality (VaDEQ) and maintain status thereafter.

- Special focus on Document Control, Permits and Related activities and Aspects and Impacts modules.

Achieved compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and permits as well as internally developed standards in 8 months, with the capabilities in place to maintain certification in the future.

Successfully implemented a system to adequately track and manage deadlines and requirements to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
Implementing the system into other departments including Housing and Dining, and Environmental Health and Safety. Plans to implement the system into Utilities will commence in the near future.
