- Wanted to attain ISO 14001 Certification.
- Required an EMS solution that could manage the provincial Forestry Program including tracking, monitoring and evaluation to minimize any environmental impacts.
- Needed a tool to efficiently manage and consolidate all compliance related documentation, ensuring the necessary employees from across the province could access the most up to date information.
- Wanted a system that would help each user manage their tasks, ensuring all time sensitive activities were completed on schedule.
Solution
- Implemented the Intelex Environmental Management System.
- Special focus on Document Control, Maintenance Measuring &Monitoring, Environmental Incident Reporting, Nonconformances, Corrective /Preventative Actions, Internal & External Communications.
- Intelex’s technical support ensured a seamless implementation of the EMS system and continue to provide strong ongoing support to make sure all questions and concerns are solved in a timely manner.
- The email notification function of the system ensures all users are aware of the tasks they are required to complete, aiding managers to easily monitor progress, and minimize the possibility of missing deadlines.
Results
Achieved ISO 14001 certification in October of 2003, with the ability to sustain certification and pass all future internal and external audits.
Ability to develop and build annual goals and targets into the system in order to track, measure and minimize the organization’s impacts on the environment.
Ability to consolidate internal documentation, making it easy for all 115 employees from across the province to securely access necessary documentation, ensuring all users have the most up to date information and are following the same policies and procedures.
