Presales Engineer, December 6, 2013
As a member of the Intelex Enterprise Sales Team you will be responsible for providing technical presales support to Account Managers in order to further develop the enterprise sales pipeline and grow enterprise sales revenue. The Presales Engineer will assist in discovery calls, opportunity scoping, product presentations, technical deep dives and standard and custom demonstrations. The selected candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
Analyze technical needs, requirements, and state of a customer's current technical environment and operations
Identify opportunities and develop technical solutions to meet customer's needs and requirements
Review and validate all solutions to ensure compatibility and consistency with Intelex best practices
Communicate the role and value of technology solutions to customers
Assist the Sales and Global Services and Support teams with requests for quotes / information, bids, proposals and statements of work
Assist with the definition, development, installation and administration of solution demonstrations in the Intelex demo sites
Participate regularly in internal product and sales training to maintain and grow skills and knowledge of existing and new products
Working in conjunction with Global Services and Support teams to create, maintain and publish templates for implementation plans and scope of work documents
Provide input to Product Management regarding changing market conditions/competitor activities
Present technical briefings to Client Executives and Technology Staff
Understand and abide by all security and operational policies
This position may require travel 15-25% travel to support client meetings, attend training and vendor events
Deliver pre-sales solutions and interact with clients to ensure achievement of yearly enterprise sales targets.
Reports to the Vice President of Enterprise Sales
Fosters close cooperative relationships with account managers and sales management
Partners with Global Services and Support for understanding of project delivery
Partnering with Product Management to understand the product roadmap and evolution of the product
Minimum of five years’ experience in designing, developing, configuring, and implementing enterprise software - 3-5 years’ experience in Presales Engineering or Consulting; understands selling and implementing business solutions
Knowledge of the Environmental, Health and Safety, and Quality Management space is strongly preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of technology through achievement of professional certifications
Logical problem-solving approach, ability to clearly communicate business problems and proposed solutions to the customer
Strong technical writing skills, and ability to assist Sales and Global Services and Support teams with requests for quotes / information, bids, proposals and statements of work
Demonstrate the ability to create technical drawings for solution proposals
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present in a group setting
Ability to facilitate and conduct webinars / presentations to customers, including conceptual design and white boarding sessions
Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and C-level executives
Self-motivated to develop and maintain skill set and product knowledge to maximize value and to deliver quality services to our customers.
