The Contracts Manager works primarily with the sales team, customers, project managers and finance to negotiate, evaluate and execute customer and other contracts. The Contracts Manager is also responsible for establishing contract administration policies and procedures and ensuring compliance across the organization.
Responsibilities and Deliverables
Responsible for assisting the sales team in negotiating, evaluating and executing contracts in accordance with Company policies and practices including:
Serve as the point of contact for customers on contractual matters. Liaise between company employees and customers, to ensure any contractual issues are reviewed and reconciled in a timely manner
Provide guidance on contract matters to sales team and project managers including training new employees in contract practises and procedures
Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration including implementing contract management software
Work with insurance broker to co-ordinate contractual insurance requirements
Work with Finance to ensure adherence to finance requirements such as revenue recognition, pricing and discounting policies as well as understanding and evaluating economic impact of alternative terms and conditions
Handle on-going issues and contract change management, contract extensions and renewals
Monitor competitive trends, customer satisfaction with terms and conditions and contracting practices and recommend changes as needed
Reports to the Chief Financial Officer
Works in collaboration with Sales, Services and Finance
Works closely with company’s Legal Counsel
University degree, LLB preferred
At least 3-5 years’ of relevant experience
Demonstrated knowledge of contract law and contract negotiation experience
Excellent communication skills
Financial awareness and ability to identify business opportunities
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
