Consulting Resources Manager

Position Overview

The Consulting Resources Manager is responsible for managing a talented team of resources including the support of project deliverables and overall business objectives. The Consulting Resources Manager will be responsible for ensuring that Intelex Global Services has the right team of consultants to support all projects and client needs. Responsibilities include recruiting, staffing of projects, developing and evaluating resources to ensure the efficient operation of project assignments.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

The Consulting Resources Manager is a key member of the services Management Team contributing to the overall growth and success of the practice. They play a critical role in the development of a high performance consulting team.

  • Maintains a high utilization rate by managing resource requirements including staffing and scheduling. Ensures that the overall objectives are supported (Business and Project Objectives/Career and Personal Objectives).
  • Serves as a mentor, coach and career counselor to our consulting professionals. Conducts and manages annual performance evaluation and career development plan as well as promotion and salary assessments. Identify and plan opportunities for career advancement within GSS or across Intelex.
  • Tracks and monitors areas of development and the resources progress on a regular basis. Provide functional and technical guidance to consultants on projects to ensure delivery performance is on track, as well as identify project opportunities to advance and assist in developing skills.
  • Ensures that the resource is in a position to be promoted at the right time, by confirming they have the right skill sets and experience to move forward – supporting resources during the promotion and salary assessment periods.
  • Responsible for dealing with and correcting any performance issues – ultimately to fix problems before a resource is terminated or chooses to seek other employment opportunities
  • Responsible for the strategic hiring and execution plan for the practice. Coordinates with internal Operations staff to ensure proper training, hiring and retention programs are in place.
  • Grows and supports the consulting division as required with strategic recruiting, retention and compensation plans.
  • Builds and maintains a strong resource relationship. Exhibits a sense of urgency in providing quality service to both internal and external resources. Earns trust and credibility throughout Intelex and the customer organization. Seeks to understand resource issues and delivers appropriate solutions.

Key Deliverables

Organizational Alignment

  • Reports to the Director of Account Services.
  • Fosters close cooperative relationships with peers within their respective teams, branches, division, and department.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with cross functional teams within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with business application development and/or IT Consulting.
  • Minimum 5 years project related experience with exposure to all phases of software development including: Analysis and Design, Implementation, Testing, and Deployment.
  • University degree/diploma in related field.
  • Human Resource background and/or Human Resource Management Certification an asset.
  • Experienced in playing a team lead role and/or providing mentorship/guidance to others through an implementation.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to help coordinate and ensure the success of Intelex deployments.
  • Experience with the day-to-day execution and management of project assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams and deliver complex assignments.
  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
  • Experience with MS Office and Resource Scheduling Tools.
  • To excel in this role, the right candidate will have proven excellence in senior leadership roles, client satisfaction and be highly assertive to promote and achieve project goals. In addition, they will be able to demonstrate their success at negotiating solutions, managing expectations, overcoming resistance to change, and getting buy-in to new business processes.
  • Documents and communicates in a clear and concise manner.
  • Adjusts to changes in priorities and manages time effectively.
  • Takes initiative to achieve value-added results, within scope of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of Intelex products and tools and ability to apply a variety of Intelex techniques, methods, processes, and practices to varied work assignments, considered an asset.
