Position Overview

As part of the Client Services Division, the Project Consultant is responsible for leading small to mid-sizeclients through their entire Intelex software implementation.

Responsibilities and Deliverables

Project Management / Project Accounting
  • Leads multiple, small to mid-size client implementation projects.
  • Provides direction and support to clients throughout the implementation process.
  • Prepares a Statement of Work for each project and associated project plans.
  • Identifies resources needed and assigns responsibilities in accordance with the project schedule.
  • Coordinates all tasks and activities as required for client implementations including the management of configuration and customization projects.
  • Timely submission of time and expense reports, ensuring project team does the same.
Training Delivery
  • Determines and delivers customized training during the project implementation.
  • Assists in the development of customer specific training and implementation material.
Analysis and Solution Definition
  • Facilitates requirements gathering sessions with clients to identify business objectives.
  • Develops detailed requirements specifications and prototypes for client review and approval.
  • Conducts specifications and prototype review meetings to validate requirements.
  • Conducts design review meetings to ensure developed system meets all requirements.
  • Effectively applies our methodology and enforces project standards.
Technical Recommendation and Testing
  • Serves as subject matter expert with respect to best practice implementation strategies.
  • Ensures optimal system functionality through design of reports, dashboards and homepages.
  • Assists in Integration and Acceptance Testing.
  • Understands Intelex's product release and patch process, planning potential client impact accordingly.
  • Works with Application Support to facilitate the resolution of client technical problems.
Project Execution
  • Consistently delivers high-quality services to our clients.
  • Advises clients on project approach and impact to project timelines and resources.
  • Manages client expectations and project scope to original requirements.
  • Enforces project deadlines and schedules.
  • Provides support during implementation phase.
  • Conducts post implementation review for IP capture of best practices.
  • Identifies success story candidates for announcement to client community.
  • Travel to client locations within Canada, the United States and occasional international travel required. Expected travel – 30-40%.

Key Deliverables

Maintain a baseline utilization rate of 80% and project budgets and timelines.

Organizational Alignment

  • Reports to a Client Services Team Lead.
  • Fosters close cooperative relationships with peers within their team, branch, division, and department.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with cross functional teams within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Environmental Sciences or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years consulting experience in a professional services environment.
  • Experience implementing software solutions.
  • Familiar with software development methodologies including Waterfall and Agile.
  • Strong technical skills including SQL, Salesforce, JavaScript, MS Office, MS Project, MS Visio, Notepad, Balsamiq, and SnagIt.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are instrumental to this role.
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety and/or Quality Management Systems, considered an asset.
